A few more pages from Art Every Day Month, I missed a few days but then got back on track. I'm really enjoying doing little drawings with an autumn thanksgiving feel to them, I usually draw flowers all of the time so this is something different and fun, it is my favorite time of year after all...

Fall craft projects
This week I worked on a couple of fall craft projects inspired by other blogs, like these little mushrooms made out of acorns found here and a felt leaf garland from Pam Garrisons blog that was a lot of fun, mine is smaller than hers so it really didn't take very long. She also has another version of a fall garland found here, so I might try that one too. I love making crafts at this time of year, it must be something about the cooler days, it's just very relaxing.

Art Every Day Month
Through other blogs I found out about a project called Art Every Day Month which Leah Piken hosts on her blog every November. I should have done a post earlier if anyone is interested in taking part, but you can join at any time and the goal is just to do something creative everyday. I like this project because I'm not usually good at doing a project everyday, and I decided to work in my idea sketchbook right now I'm doing drawings inspired by fall and Thanksgiving. I'll try and do a post once a week or so and hopefully I can stay with the project the whole month.

on my desk right now...
I just bought a set of three moleskine notebooks and I painted the front of one with roses and will use it for notes, lists, and ideas and it's sitting on top of my new Russell and Hazel binder that just arrived from amazon. I am a little obsessed with binders and notebooks and organizers and I love looking at how other people set up there binders and that is how I found out about this one, which I really love. It's thin and covered in light blue linen and I can't wait to organize it and use it.

art journal- collage pages
on this page I added cutouts from a book one says develop a sense of the sacred and the other says summoning the sacred and when I thought about what that meant to me I think of nature so I added a little pocket with a card that says favorite trails and I wrote my favorite nature trails on there.
I also added a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson that I really like:
"I wish that life should not be cheap, but sacred, I wish the days to be as centuries, loaded, fragrant."

Lately...
I've been adding inspiration to my idea book,
sketching my little collection of vases,
doing some embroidery doodles for practice,
making more project life cards which are really addictive to make,
happy that there is finally some fall color outside my window,
and some pretty mums on the patio, mixed with bright pink geraniums, these colors make me happy.

craft project-paper flower garland
This is a little project I made with flower cutouts using scrapbook paper. Then I used a needle with twine
and added them on to make a small garland. You have to be careful and try not to poke your finger as you thread the needle through. I poked myself a couple of times. :)

Recent Sketches
I did some drawings of my favorite snacks which was really fun and on the right page is a book by Hannah Hinchman on journaling called A trail through leaves.
and some bright pink geraniums blooming on the patio right now...
I'm working in a new journal, it's a square 6"x6" size that I really like and will probably stay with for awhile. There is something about the square shape that really works for me, but every once in awhile I try something different just to see how it works.

Journal page
On this journal page I clipped words from a page in a magazine, a list of delights:
- keeping a journal
- along the garden path
- stay cozy: we have soup, flowers, books and more
- shops
- Victoria magazine
- Maine
I love finding words in books and magazines to add to my journal pages, sometimes they're better at describing how I feel than writing my own words, but I like to include both.

My Daybook
This is my daybook that I put together inspired by Leslie at Wisteria and Sunshine and The Bower I really love her peaceful style. So this is my daybook with a handrawn calender section and then pages for lists like favorite books, inspiration and things to do. I also add little pictures and clippings from magazines.
I have five sections: planner, garden, self, art and home.
Its a lot of fun to put together and I hope to keep adding to it...

new journey of healthy eating
I checked out a book from the library called Yoga Food and when it came time to return it I made my own little recipe book with sketches of my favorite things to make from the book.
I really love the millet breakfast dish...
I really love the millet breakfast dish...
the yoga salad with cabbage...
and I want to try these gluten free banana muffins.
I'm trying to incorporate healthy food which is kind of difficult because I love lots of cheese, potato, pasta and bread dishes, so I'm gradually adding healthy food and its also so easy to eat gluten free with all the alternatives they carry in the grocery store now.

Sketchbook
I've tried doing sitting meditation in the past and it just doesn't ever really work for me, so I like moving meditation, like on Sunday Mornings when I go for a walk, listening to Mozart in the Morning and finding little things to sketch. This ritual always makes me really happy. Do you have some kind of peaceful thing you do on a regular basis?
