Pages from my 'illustrated discovery journal'

I love putting together collages of things that inspire me. I find images in magazines and print things from my favorite blogs and Pinterest. Then I add little labels and bits of decorative paper to add writing and descriptions. It's a very relaxing way to spend and hour, especially with a cup of tea to sip on, while I cut and paste....I think I'll do another one today. It's a good way to spend a saturday.

Your discovery journals are beautiful. I keep some too. I love the colours you have kept to, the pinks and greys and turquoise.
I use magazines and leaflets and things in the post. I've never thought of printing things off from online because I guess I wasn't sure about copyright for that even though it's just for our own use.
But I think pinterest is like a big online scrapbook in itself isn't it.
Thanks so much for your comment at Secrets

  2. Thank you Kat for your comments on my 2 posts.
I hadn't thought about the copyright issue, but I've seen other inspiration journals online and the people have said they print off from blogs and websits to use in their own personal journals, so I think it's ok, as long as it isn't something used to make money.
I love your blog and Pinterest boards and your soft ethereal color palette. So inspiring. Thanks again for the comments.

  3. Hi Jenni,

I just read an article about you in Art Journaling magazine, so I thought I would stop by and tell you how much I love your art! You and I like many of the same inspirations: vintage decor, cottage gardens full of roses and pansies, sweet pastries (yum!) and, most importantly, a love of journaling. Please keep up the great work on your pages. I'm looking forward to seeing many more beautiful pieces from you! :) Gwyn
