new year art journaling

I'm having a hard time starting into the new year, I've  been procrastinating a lot and can't quite seem to organize the thoughts and projects in my head, because I do have a lot of things I want to do.

I have been doing a little bit of art journaling, this page is almost finished, it's some journaling about the word that I chose to focus on for the year, which is calm because lately I've been more impatient and irritated so I knew this was the word for this year, it helps me breathe and focus on the present. Did anyone else pick a word for the year?

  1. Jenni -- I absolutely love your journal pages and all the little flowers and labels you add to them. Can I ask what your favorite magazine is for finding pictures of women as shown in this post? Would you ever consider offering us an on-line class in how you put together your beautiful pages? Thanks!

    1. Hi Krissy, Thanks so much for your comment! The pictures I use are from catalogs: Anthropologie and Free People, you can order them for free at their websites. I also like the images in Yoga Journal magazine. I would love to offer an online class, so I'll start thinking about it and look into how to do it.
      Have a great day,
      Jenni

  5. Jenni, I love your art journal pages. I too have been having a hard time deciding what to do b/c I have a whole bunch of ideas in my head it's just hard to figure out how to put them down onto paper. Love your word of the year "Calm"...That is a good one. I may borrow it next year. My word this year is "Change" I have already noticed change working its way into my life and hope to be blogging about it soon.

    1. Thank you so much for your comment. I love your word "change". It's amazing how having the focus of a word can really help, I think it works better than resolutions, that I'm not ever able to keep. I hope your word helps you bring positive changes to your life.
      Thanks for stopping by,
      Jenni

  6. Hello Jenni,
I wanted to thank you for your comment about Rose at The Bower, and am so glad I came here for another deep drink of your wonderful creativity. You must have a gift for finding the space in your days so regularly to express yourself in these ways. I admire that.
Do you mind if I link to your blog at Wisteria & Sunshine? I think my members will be inspired to see your pages...especially your daily art journaling ones. We are working on getting into the habit of using our Daybooks more devotedly, really making them our own, and you do that so well.

Wishing you continued quiet, warm days,

    Lesley
