sketchbook

I usually don't talk about anything very personal on my blog here, but the reason I haven't posted in awhile is that I've been diagnosed with depression and I'm on medication for it now. I'm also doing natural remedies and a gluten free diet, which helps a lot. So that's why I haven't posted anything for awhile, but I'm going to start again and do more drawing and journaling and I will be posting again and see if my blog can also be a way to heal.  For right now I wanted to share some of the sketchbook pages that I did in April and May and then I will be doing new sketches soon. I will be going at a gentle pace with it all. Thanks for listening...

  1. THANK YOU for posting, and for courageously sharing about your depression. I'm so glad you are on medication! You will be feeling much better VERY soon, so hang in there. (I know this from personal experience!) To look at your pages, one would never know about your depression. Your pages are always so cheerful and uplifting! I do hope you will keep posting your art, and sharing your story of recovery. GOOD THINGS are coming your way! :) Gwyn

  5. Hello ladies!!
    I'm here too ;)

Dear Jenni, dear one, take it easy and KNOW deep in your heart that everything is going to be all right.
Remember that art heals, art saves, so it's a really good idea to go back to your journals.
I have been popped by to say how grateful I am for your comment about my art, as all of my other usual commenters seem to ignore my art posts... so I'm even more grateful that you left a comment on one of those.
    Thank you!

  6. Dear Jenni - I have been away for a few days and just catching up on your posts. Your journal pages are always so beautiful. I think this is a wonderful way to heal dear one. I am glad you are taking it easy. It also sounds like you are eating healthy too. If you need any help with gluten - free recipes - let me know - hubby has celiac disease so I have been cooking gluten free for several years. There are some great foods and helps out there now. So many folks seem to have gluten problems. Take care and I will be praying for you friend.

  7. Thank You, Thank you for your sweet, encouraging comment, it means so much to me. Yes it seems like so many people are having problems with gluten. I've been about two months gluten free and I already feel SO much better. There are so many food products out there for gluten free eaters. Thanks for the offer of recipe ideas, I will definitely think about it.
Hope you are enjoying your break,
    you take care too,
    Jenni
