Art Journals

These are the three art journals I'm currently working in, the one on the top is my collage journal of images and paper that I love.
The second one is a journal of my favorite things and different lists because I love making lists in my journals.  And the one on the bottom is my large painted art journal where I use acrylics, watercolors, markers and colored pencils.

I lit a candle, put on music and played around with paint in my large art journal and had a very enjoyable time last night. Peaceful and Relaxing which is just what I'm wanting in my life right now.

This page has a drawing of the neckace I bought on Etsy from Violet Bella and I included her business card as well.  I'm also making a list of things I need to do, getting in down on paper helps me have a calm mind.    : )

This is a page in my collage journal from a few days ago and it's all about Fresh Starts which is something I'm needing right now as well.

I hope everyone had a chance to do something they really enjoy this weekend. It's all about making the time for the things we love to do....

  1. Good morning, Jenni -- I LOVE how you fill your journal pages with all kinds of papers, images and words. I want to start a journal like yours and would like to ask, what kind of glue/adhesive do you use to adhere magazine photos? I'm not too worried about air bubbles or wrinkles in them, but just want to know what you use to adhere them. Thanks so much. Hope you have a great week.

    1. Hi Krissy,
Thank You, I've never used any thing too fancy but right now I just like using mod podge, the brand is Royal Coat and it works pretty well for me using a paintbrush and then I spread the page down with a bone folder. I also just use tape when I don't want to take the time for glue :)
      I hope this helps.

P.S-I'm still thinking of ideas and trying to figure out how to do and online art journal class.

    2. I already have some Mod Podge and double-stick tape, so I'm in business! I would be thrilled to take an on-line class from you. That would be awesome! Thanks so much. I always look forward to looking at your beautiful journal pages.

    1. You leave such wonderful comments, THANK YOU
I had never lit candles before while painting and I don't know why because it's wonderful and helps me stay in the moment.
I don't have a watercolor brush but I've heard wonderful things about them so I will need to get one.
I hope you had a good day weeding, your garden is gorgeous!
      Thank you,

  4. Hi Jenni,

Thank you for the delightful peek into your lovely journals. How nice that you keep three different categories of journals. I do the same sort of thing! What a wonderful idea to light a candle to relax you while you journal. I'm going to try that, too, in addition to my playlist of relaxing music that I always have on when I do my art. You are a treasure, sweetie! Sure hope you are feeling BETTER! :) your sister in art, Gwyn

    1. Hi Gwyn, Thank You!!
Yes I am a little obsessed with journals so I like having different ones for different moods.
I just started lighting candles while painting and I love it, I will also have to put together a relaxing playlist.
I am definitely feeling much better already, and art helps and the wonderful comments everyone is leaving here helps so much too :)
Hope you have a great week,
      Jenni

  5. Jenni - what a great idea to have three separate journals. All three are so lovely. So glad to hear you had a relaxing evening. I love to do art with music...it just seems like the two go together.

    1. Hi Debbie, I haven't listened to music while journaling for quite awhile and I don't know why because yes they just go together so well, and seems to expand the creativity.
I have three separate journals because I am so obsessed and constantly want to put together and start a new one. :)
Hope you have a great week,
